QA Engineer (Automation) – Travel Tech

Location: Porto, Portugal | Global SaaS Platform | Aviation Industry - €40,000+

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team where quality is at the heart of everything. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of both customer-facing solutions and core platform products.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement test strategies for functional and non-functional requirements
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks for API and web applications
- Work closely with developers and product teams to ensure solutions meet requirements
- Execute testing, analyse results, and perform root cause investigations
- Manage defects and support resolution across development and UAT
- Contribute to release readiness and quality assurance processes
- Own regression testing strategy and improve automation coverage
- Support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

- 5+ years’ experience in software testing
- Strong experience with automation tools (Cypress, Playwright)
- Experience testing APIs and web applications
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience with AWS, MongoDB/NoSQL, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have

- Experience with TDD/BDD approaches
- Performance testing tools (JMeter, K6)
- Experience with AI, chatbots, or LLM prompt design
- ISTQB certification or relevant degree
- Travel or airline industry experience
