My name is Jorge. I’m native Portuguese and a Senior Recruitment Consultant and Country Manager for Portugal.
Madison Bridge is growing and we have been targeting an expansion into the Portuguese market in 2022. This has proven quite successful so far. I have been building a great portfolio of clients, candidates and exciting jobs. Most importantly, we are building our footprint/network.
I pride myself on being an expert in “all things tech” related! I specialise in Software Development, more specifically Backend, Front End and Mobile Development. While Covid-19 slowed down the market, it also proved that people can work remotely and maintain the desired performance levels.
With that being said, we have been seeing a boom in the market from both Portuguese and International companies.
Why Portugal?
Historically, Porto and Lisbon have always been the main hubs for professional work – you could call them the “working capitals”.
Due to Portugal having slightly lower salary expectations than markets like Germany, UK and France, we have been seeing a shift from international companies to settle in Portugal. From taxes to hiring amazing professionals at lower price, we can clearly see the trend that happened in Romania for the past 5/10 years.
This is only a positive in my humble view. Inflation from international companies to Portugal will only bring with time a raise for salaries. Furthermore, more qualifications will consequently make the economy and quality of life to raise substantially.
That is my main goal for this expansion – to create the biggest recruitment network Portugal has ever seen! Moreover, I want to make Madison Bridge the #1 Recruitment company Portuguese clients come to speak with when they have talent resource needs.
