Development Team Lead – Travel Tech

Location: Porto, Portugal Hybrid | Global SaaS Platform | Aviation Industry – €60,000+

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, technical expertise, and strategic input. You will lead a team of developers while contributing to architecture, delivery, and continuous improvement across both customer projects and core platform development.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and line manage a team of developers – 3/4 people.
- Drive performance and collaboration across engineering teams
- Contribute to technical strategy and architectural design
- Provide technical guidance and ensure best practices
- Work with Product, BAs, and customers on solution design
- Participate in agile planning, estimation, and delivery
- Oversee releases, deployments, and backlog management
- Ensure solutions deliver real business value
- Support continuous improvement and innovation

Requirements

- 5+ years software development experience
- Strong skills in Node.js, Web APIs, Angular
- Experience with MongoDB / NoSQL databases
- Experience with service-oriented architecture
- CI/CD, TDD, automated testing experience
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Computer Science or similar

Nice to Have

- Experience with AI, chatbots, or LLMs
- Messaging systems (RabbitMQ)
- Travel or airline industry experience
- High-performance or asynchronous systems
