Dutch startup, Aquablu is the smart water purification to take the UK by storm!
Aquablu is the smart water purification that started in the Netherlands with the goal of working hard to prevent the use of environmentally detrimental plastic water bottles.
Founded by Marnix Stokvis and Marc Zuylen in 2016, the Dutch startup has recently launched smart water taps within supermarkets and offices across Europe called “Aquablu Refill”. The convenient refill stations will be offering chilled and sparkling water. Not to mention this is the first smart water in the EU that is entirely free of disposable packaging and harmful substances.
The first Aquablu Refill points are expected to be available to the EU customers in mid-September. Customers can tape 600ml of fizzy or still water, starting at €0.40. For those who come to the store without their own bottle, Aquablu offers environmentally friendly aluminium bottles for €2.49.
Aquablu Refill uses the latest osmosis technology, which removes all possibly harmful substances from tap water to then mineralize and rebalance water. Smart technology is always monitoring the quality. This mineral water has no limitations to where it can be installed including through tap water and the canals of Amsterdam.
Next, the founders are expanding and bring Aquablu to the UK. In a quote from Stokvis, “We are planning to launch the smart water dispensers in the UK beginning Q1 2022.” By the sounds of things, the company has received interest from several potential partners in London and are due to reach an agreement.
