Meet Diego – our CleanTech expert
Hi, my name is Diego, and I am building and growing the CleanTech function here at Madison Bridge, focusing on Data, Analytics & Engineering across the Netherlands, UK & Germany.
Why CleanTech?
It’s a noble cause that helps me sleep better at night.
Just kidding…or am I?
I spent the initial four years of my recruitment journey building out data functions within the UK InsureTech Space; this was challenging but also rewarding as Digital Transformation was necessary within the market, so it was exciting to be part of that change.
However, having been environmentally conscious from an early age, I felt that there was something missing from my career, and I felt strongly that I should be doing more to make a positive impact – I just didn’t know how whilst still doing the job I do.
It sounds cliché, but I only started to connect the dots whilst I went travelling to South America. Here, I saw the effects of human impact first-hand such as climate change, pollution coupled with a rising population on the natural environment in places such as the Amazon and the big cities. Here it instilled some excitement in me to solely focus partnering with companies whose mission statement it is to make a positive impact on the planet. This is the first time where I heard the words #CleanTech #GreenTech and #SustainTech.
What is GreenTech?
“GreenTech refers to the use of tech that has a positive environmental impact at its core. It refers to those companies that are founded for a wider purpose – it could be reducing carbon emissions, tackling pollution, minimizing waste, protecting the world’s ecosystems or anything that contributes to making life on earth more sustainable and less harmful”
For me it was a breath of fresh air as it was new, it’s an ever-growing space and full of exciting developments that have the potential to change the world and make the planet a healthier, happier, and more efficient place to live, whilst still building an economy and bolstering financial rewards.
Madison-Bridge has given me full trust and space to build out this market which I am extremely grateful for and with a strong start, I’m looking forward to seeing where we are this time next year.
